eTwinning Plus Expands in Azerbaijan

On October 24, the Ministry of Education and Madad Azerbaijan held the press conference dedicated to the results of the eTwinning Plus project implementation in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Gulkhas Aslanova represented Azerbaijan at "Developing your school with EU programme support. A conference for school leaders" held in Vilnius, Lithuania on October 11-12, 2013

The European Commission and the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council jointly organised this conference for school leaders to discuss how schools can best benefit from European co-operation by making it part of their school development strategy. Conference participants explored the role of school leaders in European school co-operation and ways in which EU programmes such as Comenius can support schools in developing an international strategy. They also looked at how EU-supported projects and eTwinning can effectively contribute to tackling current challenges for schools. read more »

eTwinning Plus Contact Seminar

On September 26-29 "eTwinnning Plus Contact seminar" was held in Krakow, Poland. Representatives of European countries, such as Germany, United Kingdom, France, Poland, Slovakia and Czech Republic shared their experience on working in eTwinning and gave useful recommendations on successful implementation of eTwinning projects to the teachers from eTwinning Plus countries. Second training on eTwinning Plus for new teachers

On October 1-3 teachers recently joining the eTwinning Plus project were provided with a training session for new eTwinners. The following schools were present at the training: Baku European Lyceum, Taraggi lyceum, Zangi lyceum, schools N7, 189, 42, 20 and 164. During the training teachers were guided through eTwinning Plus portal, introduced different tools on the platform and in TwinSpace, which is a place for teachers to work on their joint projects and also had a chance to see the pedagogical value of eTwinning Plus. Connecting Students through eTwinning Plus

Azerbaijan has become part of the eTwinning Plus project since January 2013, funded by the European Commission. The initiative is implemented and coordinated by Madad Azerbaijan in partnership with the Ministry of Education. The project aims to promote collaboration among the secondary schools in Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine, and Georgia with their counterparts in 33 European countries through joint educational projects using a unique online platform. Meeting with schools to introduce the project

In June and August meetings were held to present the eTwinning Plus project to the selected schools and to show teachers and school staff the opportunities that the project opens for them. Representatives from 10 schools participated in the first meeting in July. On August 26th, teachers and administrative staff of six schools got familiar with the eTwinning Plus project. Meeting with schools to introduce the project

As we know, since 2013, Azerbaijan participates in the international eTwinning Plus project. The project implementation phase in Azerbaijan started in summer. Three meetings were held to introduce eTwinning Plus project to the school principals and teachers. The project's new website and facebook page was launched in order to provide the updates and news on the implementation of eTwinning Plus in Azerbaijan. Madad Azerbaijan conducted rigorous interviews to select enthusiastic teachers for participation in the project.
